We want to give every individual the opportunity to be the most authentic version of themselves in a club setting (and at events beyond) by turning these places into safe(r) spaces. Based on previously learned content and a subsequent test, a passport in QR code form is generated, which ensures that the user has dealt with topics such as consent, diversity, respect, etc. and is now ready to live these ethical aspects in dealing with other people. At the entrance of said event, the individual code is checked and thus a safe(er) space is created for everyone. The test content can be thought in general, as well as party specific, for example for fetish parties, where party guests are made aware of the special dress code (and how to deal with other people in that dress).

Need and target group

We focus on people who more or less regularly go out into the nightlife, for example to act out sexual needs, but at the same time want to feel safe. We have started to conduct user interviews in the last weeks and noticed how different the needs of potential users are. For a female PoC, the club experience is very different than for a white male user who may have never felt unsafe in a club scenario. So it's important to make the pass attractive to everyone nonetheless, because that's the only way to create a safe(r) space. With our SaferPass, people can pursue their sexual needs in the club without having to constantly fear discrimination or assault. Our target group wants to feel safe without losing the chance to let off steam. Consent and respect play a big role at sex parties - for example, erotic clothing is by no means an invitation for every:n other:n. On the one hand our target group benefits from a collective better behavior within a club, and on the other hand own knowledge gaps can be filled and previous mistakes in own behavior (e.g. wording) can be avoided.

Value proposition

Our users enjoy a protected space to let off steam without having to fear that other guests are not aware of the topics and rules of the respective party series (which were previously communicated in the SaferPass content). You will thus meet like-minded and open-minded people who treat each other respectfully and can unfold as their deepest inner selves desire. Nobody has to hide, one's own needs can be lived out as long as they do not affect another person. Apart from the protected(er) framework we want to create in clubs with SaferPass, the content also serves to enrich one's own knowledge and to close gaps. Fear of contact with different topics (fetishes, pronouns, etc.) can be minimized.
